Exodus 14:14
"The Lord will fight for you and you have only to be silent. "
I was talking to my 2-year old grandson the other day. And I saw him put his finger in front of his mouth and go, "Shhhhhhh!" Ya'll, my blood pressure started rising and all I could say is, "Are you "shushing" me?" (Lol)
In Exodus 14 the Children of Israel was finally released and escaped from the hands of Pharaoh. When they saw the army of Pharaoh rushing towards them and the Red Sea before them, they began to cry out and complain about their current issue. Now, get this...they complained about making bricks without straw when they were enslaved to Pharaoh in Egypt. They probably got whipped by slave masters EVERYDAY! BUT GOD heard their cry and sent Moses to deliver them from the hands of Pharaoh.
Maybe they thought everything was going to be hunky-dory after they left Egypt. Needless to say, they left one problem only to be faced with another problem. So, just like you and I do....they forgot that the same God who delivered them from the first problem was the same God who could deliver them from the current problem.
When God heard them cry out for help, God told Moses, "The Lord will fight for you and you have only to be silent." In layman terms, God was saying, "Shhhhhhh!"I gotcha! Just be quite. Stop complaining." The old folks would say, Shush-up, girl!"
As we face the Red Sea issues in our lives, let's start focusing on the God who is willing and able to do anything but fail. Don't allow the issues to distract you from your purpose. God is right there with us through it all. Stop trying to defend yourself when others have lied on you or talked about you. God says "I will fight your battle, just be silent." Shhhhhhh!
